DEET (diethyltoluamide) has long been considered the most effective mosquito repellent. It was originally developed in the USA for military use and is formulated such that the mosquito’s receptors are blocked from sensing human sweat, odours or CO2 emissions that attract mosquitoes.

PelGar produces high strength DEET creams and sprays, additionally a non-Deet alternative, Saltadin, is also available. Uniform and fabric insect repellents are also available from PelGar, as well as products to administer relief from bites and stings.
